CIESIN senior information scientist Xiaoshi Xing co-authored an article in npj Urban Sustainability on the development of the UCCRN City Solutions Case Study Atlas (City CSA). The City CSA, which is under development, will be a dynamic, centralized, and searchable database of urban case studies and metadata from multiple sources together with relevant data layers. The Urban Climate Change Research Network (UCCRN) is developing the City CSA in response to the challenge of how city-level case study sources remain fragmented, biased towards large cities, and inaccessible to local practitioners, notably in the Global South. The article presents the conceptual design of the UCCRN City CSA including key goals, objectives, and protocols used to integrate case studies from multiple sources and provide search functionality across a range of user groups.
