Xiaoshi Xing
Bio
Mr. Xiaoshi Xing is a senior information scientist at CIESIN. He serves as a co-manager of the Data Distribution Center (DDC) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). He is an Ex-Officio Member of the IPCC Task Group on Data Support for Climate Change Assessments (TG-Data). He has 25+ years’ experience working with IPCC authors, technical support units (TSUs), data task groups, and the DDC since he contributed to the Special Report on Emissions Scenarios (SRES). He has worked for over 25 years for the NASA Socioeconomic Data and Applications Center (SEDAC) as the task co-lead on the Model Visualization and Analysis / Mitigation, Vulnerability, and Adaptation (MVA). He has also been involved with air quality groups on development of big data from Machine Learning (ML) models. Xiaoshi specializes in data and information science in the environmental and socioeconomic fields. He holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, a Master’s degree in Economics, and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
