Merlie P. Hansen

Merlie Hansen is a Senior Staff Associate I at the Center for Integrated Earth System Information (CIESIN) of the Columbia Climate School. At CIESIN, she is a member of the Information Technology Division’s Data Center Services Department. She serves as the Senior Metadata Specialist and has contributed to multiple projects at CIESIN, and the NASA Socioeconomic Data and Applications Center (SEDAC). Prior to joining CIESIN, Merlie worked as a Chemist at the University of Florida’s Food Science and Human Nutrition Department. She holds an MS in Agricultural Systems from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), in Thailand (1992) and a BS in Agricultural Education from the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP).
