SEDAC Data Search
Most of CIESIN's data holdings can be found through the NASA Socioeconomic Data and Applications Center (SEDAC), which is managed by CIESIN, including data developed by SEDAC.

GRID3 Settlement Extents and Settlement Points Data
Developed under CIESIN’s program Georeferenced Infrastructure for Demographic Data Development (GRID3), settlement extents data sets based on Digitize Africa building footprints, and a data set featuring thousands of new settlement points and place names for the Kongo Central province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, are available via Columbia University’s Academic Commons or the GRID3 Web site.

The High Resolution Settlement Layer (HRSL)
Developed with Facebook’s Connectivity Lab, these estimates of human population distribution are at a resolution of 1 arc-second (approximately 30m) for the year 2015. For a description of the data and version one download, go here. The most recent data for all countries to date are accessible via the Humanitarian Data Exchange.
