The NOAA Home Page provides information on recent activities of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), many of which are relevant to issues of global change. Access is provided to information regarding all line and program offices within NOAA.
The SeaWiFS Home Page provides access into the background, status, and documentation for NASA's upcoming global ocean color monitoring mission.
The Pathfinder AVHRR Home Page provides access to description of the Pathfinder Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) Land Data Set being produced jointly by NOAA and NASA. Additional information is provided on the Pathfinder Data Set Program.
The European Space Agency (ESA) Earth Observation Guide and Directory Service is an on-line information resource describing Earth-observation data, systems, and applications. Access is also provided to international programs and projects, to include the Committee on Earth Observations Satellites (CEOS) and the CEOS International Directory Network (CEOS IDN).
The Global Land Information System (GLIS) is an interactive computer system developed by the U.S. Geological Survey for global change scientists seeking natural science data and information about the Earth's land surface. GLIS contains references to regional, continental, and global land information including land use, land cover, and soils data; cultural and topographic data; and remotely sensed satellite and aircraft image data.
The EROS Data Center Home Page provides access to information about the U.S. Geological Survey's EROS Data Center (EDC). EDC provides data products and services to support global change research needs through its roles as the NASA EOSDIS Land Processes Distributed Active Archive Center (DAAC), a World Data Center for land data, the U.S. National Satellite Data Archive, and as a node of the United Nations Environment Program's Global Resource Information Database (UNEP/GRID). EDC developed and maintains the Global Land Information System (GLIS) for global change scientists seeking natural science data and information about the Earth's land surface. Many of these types of data will be useful in integrated studies of global change processes that incorporate the human dimensions.
